SYSPRP LaunchDll:Failure occurred while executing ‘drmv2clt.dll,Sysprep’, returned error code -2147024864

If you are changing your motherboard and processor, you might want to run sysprep, after taking an image of the existing installation of Windows 7. My sysprep process would fail with an error. The logs at C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\Panther\setuperr.log had the following:

2012-05-29 23:10:44, Error [0x0f0082] SYSPRP LaunchDll:Failure occurred while executing 'drmv2clt.dll,Sysprep', returned error code -2147024864[gle=0x00000020]
2012-05-29 23:10:44, Error [0x0f0070] SYSPRP RunExternalDlls:An error occurred while running registry sysprep DLLs, halting sysprep execution. dwRet = -2147024864[gle=0x00000020]
2012-05-29 23:10:44, Error [0x0f00a8] SYSPRP WinMain:Hit failure while processing sysprep cleanup providers; hr = 0x80070020[gle=0x00000020]

This happens if you have media sharing enabled. Even after disabling media sharing, I still had issues. So open Services and stop ‘Windows Media Player Network Sharing Services’. This time sysprep should run without any errors.

Could not calculate build plan – maven – m2e – eclipse – 2.4.3

M2e has a difficulty downloading the plugin shown in the error below:

Could not calculate build plan: Plugin org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.4.3 or one of its dependencies could not be resolved: Failed to read artifact descriptor for org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:jar:2.4.3	pom.xml	/petclinic	line 1	Maven Build Problem

So, add this line to your pom.xml and build it through command line using ‘mvn install’. That will download the plugin and then try to build from eclipse. If you are still having issues, delete it from local repository and try again. The line to add is:

<plugin>
  <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
  <artifactId>maven-resources-plugin</artifactId>
  <version>2.4.3</version>
</plugin>
