Java web start issues with Spring versions before 3.1.2

The Spring jars before Spring 3.1.2 contain a INDEX.LIST file which contains and incorrect JAR file name “org.springframework.context.jar”. So the class loader tries load this JAR over the network resulting in several 404 HTTP calls, slowing down the app by several seconds. The easiest fix would be to upgrade to 3.1.2 to eliminate the 404 calls. More on this bug here:
